Job Description
The Director of Sports Turf & Grounds is responsible for providing leadership, support, consultative, operational and regulatory review services to enhance existing Sports Turf, landscapes and grounds maintenance. The Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center builds its business around providing top quality sports turf surfaces for training and competition. Candidates must possess knowledge to maintain the highest quality natural turf training surfaces. May also oversee other services such as, pest control and irrigation maintenance. Works with supervisors to ensure achievement of departmental goals and client expectations. Ensures the maintenance, including the handling of inclement weather, and improvements of grounds are handled effectively and efficiently.
Compensation Data
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $115,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
• Lesion between external vendors/contractors and client for all Grounds Operations
• Must posses or be able to procure a Pesticide Applicator license meeting County & State of CA regulations within 6 weeks of starting. Aramark will cover all associated licensing costs.
• Reviews work requests, organizes and ensures work is completed in a timely manner according to safety standards and sustainability practices
• Oversees grounds and construction projects throughout location and develops relationships with clients/campus community in conjunction with facility/property leadership
• Works with the client to create and implement new policies and procedures to enhance landscape and ground maintenance
• Determines fiscal requirements and prepares budget for the department ensuring client needs are met
• Develops and owns accountability for a culture that creates a safe work environment
•Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA and other local, state and federal regulations and communicates such regulations to grounds staff

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Sports Turf and/or related field or equivalent experience required
• Must have a pesticide applicator license or be willing to obtain one within six weeks
• 5+ years of previous experience in groundskeeping/horticulture
• 3+ years experience managing grounds crew
• Non-commercial driver's license required
• Extensive knowledge of landscape irrigation systems and Arboriculture.
• Experience in maintenance management systems such as CMMS
• Work involves exposure to unusual elements and extreme temperatures
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization as well as external vendors and contractor
