Title:  HVAC Maintenance Worker - Florida Department of Children & Family Services

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Technician or HVAC Maintenance Worker to support facilities operated by the Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF). This role is ideal for a hands-on HVAC or facilities professional who takes pride in maintaining reliable heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in a mission-driven, public service environment. As part of Aramark Facilities Management, you will be responsible for daily HVAC operations, preventative maintenance, and emergency response to ensure safe, comfortable, and fully operational facilities.

This role offers a stable Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST, with a rotational, paid after-hours on-call component supporting essential government facilities operations.

A valid driver’s license and reliable communication for on-call response are required, while HVAC certification is not required.

Job Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, tests, operates, and repairs all refrigeration and related equipment for preserving food, making ice, cooling water, air conditioning, heating, and ventilation.
• Calibrates, repairs, and maintains all pneumatic control systems and related equipment.
• Checks, services, cleans, and replaces filters in all A/C air handling and heating units and documents the same.
• Cleans and maintains grills, ducts, and shaft ways in A/C, ventilating, and exhaust systems.
• Understands and demonstrates knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration codes and practices, and coordinates work between/with other trades.
• Completes preventative maintenance as scheduled and keeps records
• Responds to any emergency repair/maintenance situation as required
• Maintains critical inventory needed to keep operations running; maintains and accounts for tools used
• Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers

Qualifications

• Previous HVAC experience required
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
