Title:  Food Service Worker Lead - UVA - Einstein's @ Rice Hall

Job Description

The Food Service Worker Lead at Einstein Bros. Bagels is a key team member responsible for assisting management in the daily operations of the cafe. This role involves performing all duties of a Food Service Worker while also providing guidance and support to other team members. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of food safety, and the ability to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.

Hourly Ray Rate: $17-19

Shift:

• Monday - Thursday: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

• Sunday: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Job Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service, taking orders, handling transactions, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

• Food Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of menu items, including bagels, sandwiches, coffee, and other products, following all standardized recipes.

• Operational Support: Assist in opening and closing procedures, restocking inventory, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area and kitchen.

• Team Leadership: Guide and support other team members, helping to ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.

• Compliance: Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and Aramark brand standards.

• Problem-Solving: Address customer issues and operational challenges as they arise, escalating them to management when necessary.

Qualifications

• Great customer service and interpersonal skills 

• Strong Leadership and supervisory skills 

• Ability to work in a team environment 

• Serve Safe Certification 

• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions 

• Food Service Experience preferred 

• Requires frequent lifting/transporting hot food items 

• Ability to work inside kitchen area, interact with heated equipment, steam, loud noise, chemicals and other at risk conditions 

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
