Job Description
The Boat Shop Manager is primarily tasked with the overall management and timely completion of all boat related maintenance for both internal and external customers. This includes servicing privately owned customer power boats, PWC’s and houseboats as well as the company fleet.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily activities of boat repair shop and dry storage.
- Launching, recovering, repairing, and storage of customer and company boats.
- Ensure all paperwork completed to collect all fees and/or charges for storage, launch/retrieval and repair services.
- Complete all required database updates including daily sales/revenues and transaction reporting.
- Maintain all necessary records and contracts regarding all dry storage aspects.
- Inventory monitoring and control, including ordering and sales.
- Hire, onboard, coach, supervise, mentor, and schedule employees.
- May require oversight of transportation employees regarding boat retrieval and transport.
- Prepare for and participate in NPS inspections.
- Provide exceptional customer service. Strong, professional communication skills are required.
- Relay cost estimates to customers for service and repairs.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in the work area at all times. Safety of customers and employees is a paramount concern.
- Assist boat maintenance technicians as needed.
- Plan storage facility for maximum storage capacity.
- Comply with all Federal, State laws and ARAMARK policies and procedures.
- Comply with all safety policies
- Must be flexible and willing to work a varied scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work well with a diverse clientele and workforce. Supervisor and Management experience in storage operations and or marina operations is highly desired. Our customers and clients are very important to the success of our operations; therefore, excellent people and customer service skills are a requirement for this position.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field and have a minimum of 3-5 years of management experience or equivalent. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Marine Mechanic experience preferred.
