Job Description
Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking a Retail Director to join our team at Boston Children’s Hospital Main Campus in Boston, MA. Reporting to the General Manager, the Retail Director is responsible for leading retail food service operations across the account, including multiple retail outlets such as cafés, coffee shops/bistros, convenience locations, and catering services. This leader will oversee daily operations, financial performance, merchandising, marketing, cash management, customer experience, and team development while ensuring compliance with Aramark Healthcare+, client, and regulatory standards.
The Retail Director will lead Retail Managers, Supervisors, and front-line team members while building strong relationships with hospital leadership and other departments to provide a consistent, high-quality retail experience for patients, visitors, and employees.
Compensation
COMPENSATION: The salary rate for this position is $75,000.00 to $95,000.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight for retail food service operations, ensuring strong operational performance and compliance with Aramark Healthcare+, client, and regulatory standards.
- Oversees multiple retail outlets and ensures consistent execution of food quality, presentation, merchandising, service, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Drives customer satisfaction and maintains strong client relationships through regular rounding, communication, and responsiveness to feedback.
- Leads, develops, trains, and manages Retail Managers, Supervisors, and front-line staff while promoting employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
- Develops and implements retail strategies designed to improve service, customer experience, quality, sales, and profitability.
- Utilizes customer feedback and operational data to identify opportunities and implement improvements across retail operations.
- Oversees cash handling, merchandising, product presentation, inventory, food quality, labor, and cost-control processes.
- Develops operational forecasts, monitors financial performance, explains variances, and supports accounting functions for the retail operation.
- Manages scheduling and staffing to ensure appropriate coverage while meeting operational and financial goals.
- Partners with client leadership and other departments to maintain effective relationships and support a unified customer experience.
- Identifies opportunities for service enhancements and potential expansion of Aramark programs and services.
- Ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, cash-handling, human resources, and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Supports implementation and ongoing utilization of retail technology and systems.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of retail food service management experience, preferably overseeing multiple outlets.
- Previous experience leading high-volume, fast-paced food service or retail operations strongly preferred.
- Healthcare, hospital, or similarly complex institutional food service experience preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing managers, supervisors, and/or large front-line teams.
- Experience with retail marketing, merchandising, cash handling, inventory management, and cost controls required.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and variance analysis.
- Strong computer skills required, including experience implementing, utilizing, or maintaining retail technology systems.
- ServSafe certification or strong food safety and sanitation knowledge required.
- Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer service and build strong client relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing responsibilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
