Job Description

Coordinates activities of and directs training of food delivery staff and other hospitality workers engaged in delivering and serving food and the sale of packaged goods in a non-traditional food and beverage retail environment without onsite preparation, to ensure a high quality, efficient and profitable food service department. Ensures sanitation standards and applicable food handling processes are maintained.

 

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate demonstrates capability across the following dimensions: 

 

  • Develops and executes food and beverage strategy in a retail, non-production facility.
  • Plans and participates in ordering of supplies, taking into account probable number of guest, marketing conditions, popularity of various items and menu cycle. Maintains inventory at established levels to meet budget objectives. 
  • Monitors delivery and merchandising needs for the entire food and beverage offering at the property, local deliveries, and packaged goods retail operations. Schedules all department employees. 
  • Implements and executes established company policies, guidelines and procedures for all food and supplies purchased to achieve highest quality/price value and budget objectives. 
  • Establishes and enforces nutrition and sanitation standards of food and beverage retail and related work areas. 
  • Supervises hospitality personnel and coordinates their assignments to ensure economical and timely food and beverage program execution. 
  • Observes methods of food set up and delivery to ensure food is delivered and set up in a safe manner and cost control measures are followed. Test cooked foods through temperature, taste and smell. 
  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude towards customers, clients, and coworkers. Is responsive to customer needs. 
  • Establish and maintain systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal regulations. 
  • Implement, revises and maintains proper work routines for all department positions. Directs work of supervisors/hourly employees. 
  • Participates in the selection of hospitality employees. Familiarizes new employees with practices of property. 
  • Performs all other related duties.

Qualifications

In order to be prepared for this leadership role, qualified candidates will possess:

 

  • Proven leadership experience, typically acquired over 3-5 years, including P&L responsibility within the hospitality, retail, facilities, direct store delivery or food and beverage industries.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a broad knowledge of management practices, business judgement and client/consumer interaction.
  • Confirmed ability to hire, assess, develop and grow hard-working talent.
  • Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements, including identifying opportunities within contract terms and conditions to address operational issues.
  • Established communication and teamwork skills to work with all levels on the organization from the front line associate through leadership.
  • Proven success in a repeatable business model, including leading through change and turnaround initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree is generally required to be successful; advanced degree in business or related field is preferred
