Job Description

Responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the catering services operation. Ensure catering events are logistically prepared and executed to standard.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing and enforcement of safe practices amongst the staff while tasks are being performed.
  • Supervise and assess employees, counsel, and foster their growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork. Address operational challenges and provide necessary support to staff.
  • Direct and coordinate daily activities with all servers, including supervisors and lead servers. Produce and maintain daily event order packets and assignments for staff execution.
  • Collaborate professionally with other interdepartmental teams to ensure successful event execution, including event planners, logistics, materials, and custodial staff.
  • Ensure storage areas are organized, hazard-free, and sanitary to maintain food safety and quality, in accordance with health and safety codes, policies, and procedures. Maintain accurate inventory monthly according to departmental policies and procedures. 
  • Administrative duties – assist with maintaining food waste and temperature logs, ensuring safety and food quality audits, conducting staff meetings and safety briefs, managing weekly product orders, overseeing timekeeping, adjusting schedules, monitoring event order changes, and handling month-end inventory.

 

  • Must be knowledgeable in managing an efficient, cost-effective program, including the costs of goods, labor, and direct expenses.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, communication, and emotional intelligence skills.
  • Maintain emotional control and ability to lead under stress.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations 
  • Must be able to follow instructions, read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills required.

Experience: 2 years in a supervisory role or equivalent within high-volume catering or convention settings, specifically in business dining, hotels, or resorts.

Minimum Education/Certification - High School Diploma/GED 

 

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
