Job Description
As a “AV Network / Broadcast Engineer,” you will be responsible for overseeing the video infrastructure and AV Network for a highly technical theater and multiple conference centers. You’ll manage all aspects of signal management, integrity and functional reliability in a fast-paced, always changing environment within our organization. This role involves ensuring the seamless execution of audio-visual setups, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality presentations and events.
Ideally, this individual will have a long history of audio-visual on-trend technology, broadcast experience and a strong computer/networking background.
Job Responsibilities
o Setup signal routing and data paths for all video and network connected hardware.
o Set standards and programming for various professional video switchers and routers.
o Manage the operational readiness of presentation systems and infrastructure within all meeting and event spaces. Includes in-person and virtual meeting spaces.
o Oversee system refresh projects, design, target dates, installation vendors and work within given budgets.
o Create and maintain processes and procedures for safe, consistent operation of presentation systems and equipment.
o Maintain industry knowledge and trend awareness while also researching future technologies that add value or reduce costs.
o Provide on-site support for flawless execution of events.
o Troubleshoot technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions to ensure a smooth experience for all users.
o Regularly inspect and maintain audio-visual equipment to ensure optimal performance.
o Facilitate repairs or replacement of failed equipment/systems.
o Collaborate with conference service managers to understand audio-visual requirements for various functions.
o Conduct training sessions for staff on the proper use of audio-visual equipment and systems.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment and configurations.
o Work closely with IT, facilities, and other relevant departments to integrate audio-visual systems with existing infrastructure.
o Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized audio-visual projects.

Qualifications
o Presentation Systems - Subject Matter Expert
o Proficiency in setting up, operating and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment, including video systems, computers, corporate networks including firewalls, video conferencing systems and projection.
o SDI, Ethernet, Fiber Optic and Wi-Fi data streams and protocols.
o Ensure smooth data flow by managing network devices like routers, switches and firewalls as they often require strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to identify and resolve network issues.
o Ability to speak with confidence to other IT engineers to discuss bottlenecks, roadblocks and solutions.
o Experience with current LED Wall processing and technologies.
o Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for current audio-visual technology.
o Experience testing and troubleshooting complex AV systems, as well as strong knowledge of proper equipment rack wiring standards and event best practices
o Experience with major industry manufacturers including QSC, Dante, Extron, Analog Way, Cisco, Microsoft, Apple, Sony broadcast and signal protocols, and/or Poly.
o High proficiency with flat lining and reimaging computers, specialized software applications specific to the AV industry and the use of industry leading operating systems.
o Experience with Closed Captioning setup, operation and industry leaders of this technology.
o Excellent communication and teamwork skills to interact effectively with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.
o Strong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
o Ability to prioritize and self-manage pressure situations.
o Analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and address technical issues.
o Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
