Job Description
The Front Office Manager oversees the day-to-day lodging operations of the Front Desk and Reservations teams. This role ensures a smooth, guest-focused arrival and departure experience while maintaining high standards of safety and customer satisfaction. The Front Office Manager coordinates accommodation assignments, guest communication, and work orders, and collaborates closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, and Meeting Planners to support a seamless guest experience. The position plays an essential role in the Student Resident Center's guest satisfaction and overall operating performance.
In addition to daily operations, the Front Office Manager supports hiring, training, and coaching for frontline associates, helping to build a team that is hospitable, reliable, and well-organized. The role ensures compliance with operational policies, safety procedures, and quality standards while helping to improve processes related to turnaround times, inventory control, and preventative maintenance. Success in this position is demonstrated through positive guest feedback, strong collaboration across departments, and effective staff deployment. Week, weekends & overnight availability are required.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is headquartered in Washington, DC. FDIC’s Virginia Square campus, including the L. William Seidman Center, is a multi-building complex located in Arlington, Virginia. Amenities at the Virginia Square campus include a fitness center, cafeteria, two large auditoriums, and classrooms with state-of-the-art audio/visual resources utilized by FDIC employees and state banking agencies. The campus includes a 350-room extended-stay style residence center for students and instructors attending classes at the Virginia Square campus. Situated on 9.5 acres, the Virginia Square campus is a short drive from FDIC's headquarters in Washington, D.C. It is easily accessible by public transportation at the Virginia Square Metro stop on the Orange Line. Both FDIC locations host training, meetings, and corporate events.
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $70,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

- Supervise and monitor team members to ensure a high level of guest service is delivered at all times. Empower staff to answer questions and make appropriate decisions.
- Develop and be accountable for a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurt.
- Maintain the highest level of Customer Service and Professionalism by understanding all aspects of customer service and hospitality.
- Directly participate and support all Operations of the Front Office areas.
- Maintain budget guidelines as set forth by the immediate Supervisor, Controller, or General Manager and establish and track cost savings wherever possible.
- Daily, review all Pass-On, Checklists, and Night Audit information and conduct any necessary follow-up.
- Meet with the Office team to review issues, disseminate information, and formulate a plan of action each week.
- Maintain constant knowledge of current and future functions and events.
- Respond to all requests and take ownership of all issues, ensuring proper outcomes and solutions.
- Resolve guest, client, and staff issues with efficiency and diplomacy.
- Responsible for clear and timely communications relative to all Front Office Operations.
- Responsible for coordinating in the Property Management System all Out of Order Rooms, Special Requests, Room Blocks, and Guest Profiles.
- Prepare all Staff Schedules: minimizing overtime hours, honoring schedule restrictions, Time off Requests, and business demands.
- Responsible for submitting accurate Payroll Records.
- Handle all discipline issues within the department, prepare documentation, and meet with employees.
- Ensure departmental projects are completed promptly.
- Ensure all employees are in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.
- Recruit and train all front desk personnel
- Oversee all front desk operations.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in the hospitality field preferred.
- Further courses in guest services preferred.
- A strong knowledge of personal computers is essential. Opera (pluss)
- Three years in hospitality services or a like environment performing duties as an Assistant Front Office Manager.
- Two years of management experience.
- Experience in all facets of providing guest services.
- Must be able to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with others.
- Strong organizational abilities are essential.
- Commitment to the mission of the Student Resident Center.
