Aramark Nexus is hiring a Director of Facilities to lead facility operations for a new, large-scale workforce community near Hereford, Texas, within driving distance of both Hereford and Amarillo.

This is a senior facilities leadership opportunity for an experienced Facilities Director, Director of Facility Operations, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Director, Chief Engineer, or senior facilities leader who has managed complex, high-volume operations and knows how to build and lead strong technical teams.

The Director of Facilities supporting Aramark Nexus will have overall responsibility for a 24/7 facilities operation, leading the teams responsible for maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, cooling systems, plumbing, building systems, groundskeeping, preventive maintenance, repairs, and overall site reliability.

 

This role requires more than managing work orders. The Director of Facilities will build the operating structure, staffing model, preventive maintenance programs, vendor relationships, safety standards, and response procedures necessary to keep a large residential community operating around the clock. The successful leader will be comfortable managing both planned maintenance and urgent operational issues while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, asset reliability, and the resident experience.

The ideal candidate has experience leading facilities in a large residential campus, hospitality property, corporate housing environment, industrial facility, university campus, healthcare setting, resort, military installation, or other complex 24/7 operation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for a 24/7 facilities and maintenance operation supporting a large-scale residential workforce community.
  • Lead, develop, and manage facilities teams responsible for maintenance, HVAC, electrical systems, cooling systems, plumbing, building systems, groundskeeping, and general site maintenance.
  • Establish appropriate staffing, scheduling, and on-call coverage to support continuous operations, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency response.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop facilities managers, supervisors, technicians, maintenance employees, and skilled trades personnel.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and create accountability for safety, response times, preventive maintenance, work quality, and customer service.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs designed to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, service requests, repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency work.
  • Maintain oversight of major mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cooling, and other critical building systems.
  • Ensure effective operation and maintenance of site infrastructure, residential buildings, common areas, grounds, and supporting facilities.
  • Develop response plans and escalation procedures for facility emergencies, equipment failures, utility interruptions, weather events, and other operational issues.
  • Manage computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), work orders, asset records, preventive maintenance schedules, and facilities performance data.
  • Monitor work order volume, completion times, equipment history, recurring failures, and other operational metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage third-party contractors and service providers, including vendor selection, performance management, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Partner with procurement and operational leadership to maintain appropriate parts, tools, equipment, and critical inventory.
  • Develop and manage facilities operating budgets while maintaining appropriate control of labor, materials, repairs, contracts, and capital needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset reliability, operating efficiency, energy use, labor productivity, and overall facility performance.
  • Support capital planning, equipment replacement, facility improvements, renovations, and new site development as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with site leadership, residents, customers, vendors, and other operational partners.
  • Provide clear communication regarding operational priorities, facility conditions, major repairs, risks, and project progress.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure facilities teams follow applicable safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and Aramark standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building, environmental, health, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Support emergency preparedness and business continuity planning for facilities operations.
  • Create a facilities culture focused on safety, responsiveness, teamwork, accountability, preventive maintenance, and service.

Location and Future On-Site Housing

 

This position will support a new project located near Hereford, Texas, within driving distance of both Hereford and Amarillo. Additional details regarding the specific work location will be shared with candidates as they move through the hiring process.

 

As the project develops, free on-site room and board is planned to become available for eligible employees. This will include housing and meals provided at no cost, creating an option for employees who prefer to live closer to the worksite rather than commute each day. Additional information about housing, availability, amenities, and timing will be provided as those services become available.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Requires significant progressive experience in facilities management, facility operations, maintenance management, engineering, building operations, or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Facilities, Director of Facility Operations, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Director, Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager, or similar facilities leadership role is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading a complex 24/7 facilities or maintenance operation is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supervisors, skilled trades employees, maintenance technicians, contractors, and other facilities personnel.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, cooling systems, preventive maintenance, building systems, and general facility operations.
  • Experience supporting large residential campuses, hospitality environments, industrial facilities, healthcare operations, universities, resorts, corporate housing, or other high-density facilities is highly valued.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and professional experience will be considered.
  • Facility management or engineering certifications such as FMP, CFM, SFP, or similar credentials are preferred but not required.
  • Experience using CMMS platforms to manage work orders, preventive maintenance programs, asset information, and facilities performance.
  • Experience managing operating budgets, vendors, service contracts, inventory, and capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of facilities safety, regulatory compliance, emergency response, and risk management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions during equipment failures, operational interruptions, or other high-pressure situations.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build teams, develop leaders, establish standards, and create accountability in a growing operation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations, safety, security, housing, food service, and other site leadership teams.
  • Experience operating facilities in environments with extreme heat, wind, dust, or other challenging conditions is a plus.
  • Schedule flexibility is required. This leader will be responsible for an operation that functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including emergency and after-hours escalation as needed.
