We are looking for a Chef Supervisor to join our team at HMP Oakwood, Wolverhampton, WV10 7QD

This role is suited to a Chef with a conscientious and innovative approach who will develop and has the commitment to deliver exceptional service in line with our customers and client demands. This is a customer facing role and requires a proactive individual.

What you'll be doing

⦁ You will be working inside a prison kitchen working alongside 10 to 12 Inmates who have earned the privilege to work in this enhanced security area meaning they are cleared to one of the highest levels on site. This is acquired through good behaviour.
⦁ We have an average of 1700 inmates to feed daily which includes a breakfast pack, cold lunch and a hot dinner. Food is put out on hot food trollies to the wings and then checked by the team to ensure correct portion control.
⦁ You will be working with a team of chefs; you must be motivational have a positive outlook and have attention to detail.
⦁ Supervising and assisting enhanced inmates in the kitchen
⦁ Work alongside prisoner workforces and assist them in cooking meals and preparing food
⦁ You will be responsible for the preparation of basic quality foods within a set pre ordered menu
⦁ Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheets
⦁ Full knowledge of all menu items served
⦁ Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy
⦁ Fill in all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms
⦁ Be an excellent team player and be able to deal with conflict if it arises
⦁ Undertake relevant training as required

Experience

⦁ Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have legal right to work
⦁ Relevant culinary qualification or experience
⦁ Must be over 18
⦁ Ability to deal with conflict if it arises
⦁ Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
⦁ Experience working in a large scale kitchen
