YOUR ROLE
Aramark Food Services is currently recruiting for a Cafe Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will work on site in Coillte – Avondale Forest Park located in Avondale, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. Expected opening in May 2022.

The Cafe Supervisor will work to ensure that all areas of people management, financial, food & beverage operations and client activities are met as per company requirements for Avondale Beyond the Trees. Within the 270 seat Seed Café ensuring excellent service delivery, ongoing innovation and meeting both company and client financial targets while ensuring client and customer satisfaction ratings.

Avondale Beyond the Trees is a state-of-the-art new visitor destination located in Avondale Forest Park, Co. Wicklow which is a strategic partnership between Coillte, Fáilte Ireland & EAK Ireland. Avondale was once home of Charles Stewart Parnell and is considered the birthplace of Irish forestry. On site there is a new build visitor centre which will offer a café and restaurant, craft and exhibition areas along with a 1.3km Tree Top Walk & Tower providing 360-degree views of the forest, the Avonmore river & the Wicklow Mountains. In Avondale House the living history tour will bring the Parnell family story back to life. An annual event programme will animate the overall destination.

This is a permanent role working 39 hours per week, Monday through Sunday Availability Required. (November-Feb Set Days OFF as site is closed 2 days a week).

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Day to day Supervision of the Seed Cafe to a high standard, in line with client contract & Cafe Manager direction.
  • Maintain appropriate financial information systems as required by Aramark Ireland.
  • Ensure that the correct daily cash procedures are followed including Petty Cash, lodgements, Safe Checks, etc are followed as laid down by Aramark.
  • Ensure all service & financial KPI’s are met.
  • Support the inhouse team in both FOH & BOH to ensure world class service is achieved.
  • Work with the Café Manager & Head Chef to promote an inclusive and friendly workplace. 
  • Work with & support the Cafe Manager in regard to budgeted KPI’s, Team Training & Development, Customer Satisfaction.
  • Adherence of all company procedures in the Seed Cafe as outlined by Internal Audit team, HR team, OpX guidelines, Business Conduct Policy etc
  • Ensure training for responsible service of alcohol is maintained and that all relevant requirements are fulfilled in relation to licensing laws.
  • Direct responsibility for full quality and safety compliance, including ensuring adherence to the Food Hygiene and EH&S legislation in the Seed Cafe.
  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with all department heads as well as key stakeholders in the Avondale business (Coillte, Failte Ireland, EAK Ireland, Tour Operators).
  • Monitor and evaluate Seed Cafe performance and productivity, communicating weekly the facilities needs of the business.
  • Primarily responsible for food standards and quality and overall operational excellence in the Seed Cafe.
  • Ensure service levels are of the highest standard and consistent in the Seed Café.
  • Maintain regular presence and visibility in the Seed Café owning the environment and attitude of the Seed Café team.
  • Identify opportunities in the Seed Cafe and investigate potential growth targets with Café Manager.
  • Awareness of and adaptable to the Seasonal realities of the business.
  • Other duties as required by Management.

Key Requirements

 

  • 1 year plus as Supervisor in Café or similar, preferably with a strong background in high volume hospitality/conference and banqueting/food service operation.
  • Experience of standalone Café Cash handling and POS systems
  • Experience of autonomous Café or large Café/Restaurant Supervision within the hotel/ catering/ visitor attraction/ contract- managed services industry
  • A good degree of knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP
  • A passion for fresh food and service.
  • The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Barista Experience and ability to train such skills.
  • Professionalism and the ability to present and report on relevant business information
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to successfully implement positive changes.
  • Hands on in the team mentality.
