We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our thriving catering business. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional food and service while driving business performance and developing high-performing teams.

You will oversee a team of approximately 10 employees, supported by an on-site Supervisor and Chef. The successful candidate will balance operational excellence with commercial awareness, ensuring outstanding client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to grow the business.

    • Lead and inspire a team of approximately 10 employees, fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
    • Coach, mentor and develop team members, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
    • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and proactively responding to their needs.
    • Take ownership of the site's commercial performance, driving sales, profitability and sustainable growth.
    • Manage financial performance, including budgets, gross profit (GP), labour costs and overall cost control.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation, introducing new ideas, products and initiatives that enhance the customer experience and business performance.
    • Work closely with the on-site Supervisor and Chef to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
    • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, service, presentation and compliance.
    • Monitor operational performance, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
    • Lead the team through change, bringing people on the journey and creating an engaged and motivated workplace.

     

    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

     

    • Proven leadership experience in catering, hospitality, food service or a similar operational environment.
    • Strong commercial and business acumen with a track record of improving financial performance.
    • Experience managing budgets, GP, labour costs and operational KPIs.
    • Outstanding people management skills with a genuine passion for developing others.
    • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high standards.
    • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage key client relationships confidently.
    • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and introduce innovative ideas.
    • The ability to influence, motivate and bring teams together to achieve shared goals.
    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
