Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our thriving catering business. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional food and service while driving business performance and developing high-performing teams.
You will oversee a team of approximately 10 employees, supported by an on-site Supervisor and Chef. The successful candidate will balance operational excellence with commercial awareness, ensuring outstanding client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to grow the business.

- Lead and inspire a team of approximately 10 employees, fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, empowering them to achieve their full potential.
- Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and proactively responding to their needs.
- Take ownership of the site's commercial performance, driving sales, profitability and sustainable growth.
- Manage financial performance, including budgets, gross profit (GP), labour costs and overall cost control.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, introducing new ideas, products and initiatives that enhance the customer experience and business performance.
- Work closely with the on-site Supervisor and Chef to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, service, presentation and compliance.
- Monitor operational performance, using data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the team through change, bringing people on the journey and creating an engaged and motivated workplace.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven leadership experience in catering, hospitality, food service or a similar operational environment.
- Strong commercial and business acumen with a track record of improving financial performance.
- Experience managing budgets, GP, labour costs and operational KPIs.
- Outstanding people management skills with a genuine passion for developing others.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistently high standards.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage key client relationships confidently.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and introduce innovative ideas.
