Aramark UK are currently recruiting an experienced Lead Chef to join our brand new team working at King Henry VIII 3-19 School, The Lodge, Old Hereford Road, Abergavenny, NP7 6EP

You will be working in the first all-through 3-19 school in Wales, serving up to 1000 pupils per day. You will be responsible for the kitchen operation, cost efficiency and production of innovative quality food/menus in line with agreed budgets.

  • This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, shifts ranging between 7am – 3.30pm leaving your evenings and weekends free.
  • We are offering an annual salary of £28,776.

A day in the life of a Lead Chef

  • You will be maintaining standards and quality in an educational environment.
  • Engage, develop and lead culinary professionals.
  • Develop innovative solutions in the most financially efficient way possible.
  • Run the culinary team to ensure quality in final presentation of food. Train and lead culinary and kitchen employees to use standard methodology food production techniques.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring on food production and food quality and training with respect to safety awareness. Reward and recognize employees.
  • Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationship. Aggregate and communicate regional culinary and ingredient trends.
  • Build and maintain good customer relations and seek feedback from customers and react to customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Empower team to deliver excellence in customer service. Investigate concerns and respond to needs relating to the catering service and take corrective action.

 

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • Previous experience in a management position, responsible for developing and executing culinary solutions to meet customer needs and tastes.
  • Minimum of 5 years as head chef of a substantial kitchen brigade with responsibility for food production and labour management.
  • Recognized culinary or kitchen management qualification.
