We are currently recruiting for a General Service Assistant to join our team at Junior Ranks Mess, Alanbrooke Barracks, Topcliffe, Thirsk, YO7 3EY

What you’ll be doing

• Serving customers food and beverage items. Operating tills, handling cash and cashing up procedures
• Cleaning of kitchen and kitchen equipment, back of house areas, crockery and cutlery 
• Clean and tidy counter, light equipment/machines, food preparation and public areas
• Perform daily paperwork and keep diligent records as required. 
• Assist with deliveries and monthly stock takes
• Follow food hygiene and safety procedures
• Complete in-house and online training as assigned
• Report to line manager any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults or hazards identified during the course of the work

Experience

• Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 2 (desirable although relevant training will be provided)
• Experience in a similar role desirable but not necessary
• Basic numeracy skills
• Shift patterns may vary to fit the business
• Must be able to work in all areas of the business if required (including kitchen and bar duties)
• Transport required (remote area with limited public transport)
• Reasonable overtime to help with Functions
• DSB check required
