Aramark UK on behalf of Sussex County Cricket Club, the world’s oldest professional sports club, is looking for a seasoned, decisive and commercial General Manager to lead the team and take full accountability for outstanding food and beverage operations at The 1st Central County Ground in the heart of Hove.

 

Our historic venue hosts thrilling cricket matches, including T20 clashes and County Championship fixtures, as well as large-scale concerts and corporate events. From serving matchday crowds to providing VIP hospitality, this is a chance to be part of an exciting and fast-paced environment.


Reporting to the Regional Director, will work closely with the senior leadership team to align closely with the venues brand vision, values, culture, and processes to enable the development and delivery of the food.

 

This is a high-profile opportunity for a dynamic senior and inspirational hospitality professional, experienced in food and beverage delivery. We seek a real ‘people person’ and ‘foodie’, with rounded leadership skills and a focus on delivering consistency of quality and innovation.  Responsible for all operational processes and delivering exceptional food and guest experience.

A day in the life of a General Manager:

  • Take full accountability for outstanding food and beverage operations, aligning with venue brand specifications and standards
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop and deliver food and drink strategy
  • Deliver fresh ideas and operational excellence to enhance guest experience
  • Collaborate with Finance Manager to manage budgets and forecasts
  • Drive innovation and consistency across all departments
  • Champion health and safety and brand standards
  • Liaise with venue representatives and team managers to ensure clear communication

You'll be set up for success if you have:

  • Experience operating at a senior food & beverage level
  • Experience in leading projects and change programmes
  • Ability to manage mixed portfolio of outlets and functions
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
  • Previous P&L accountability
  • Structured yet flexible approach with resilience and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
