We are currently looking for a Chef to work with our integral team at Claro Barracks, Chatham Road, Ripon, North Yorks, HG4 2RD

  • Yearly salary of £27471.72
  • Full time – 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 including weekdays and weekends
  • Shifts mainly ranging between 6am – 8pm

What you'll be doing

  • To prepare, cook and serve meals to the customer to the highest standard
  •  To assist with the control and storage of all food types
  • To monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets and serveries
  • To ensure that all handover procedures are completed
  • Full knowledge of all menu items served
  • Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
  • Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark
  • requirements and identify any anomalies and incidents
  • Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
  • Discussing ideas or improvements with line manager
  • Act as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.
  • Undertake relevant training as required

Experience

  • Applicants must have one of the following catering qualifications or equivalent:
  •  BSC (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ level 2 and 3  
  • Knowledge of health and safety
  • CIEH level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Dbs check required
  • Excellent team player and communicator
  • A confident chef
  • Flexibility and the ability to innovate
