Job Description:
The Ops Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the catering department, including staff management, ensuring high quality in service and food, maintaining food safety, and effective budget management. A strong focus on employee well-being is essential to create a positive working environment and a well-functioning department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the catering team to ensure high levels of employee well-being and engagement
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure all products and services meet company standards as well as agreements within the customer contract
- Ensure that all food safety regulations and standards are adhered to throughout the catering operation
- Prepare and monitor budgets, including costs for food, staff, and equipment, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation
- Analyse operational data to assess and improve the efficiency and quality of catering services
- Conduct training programs for employees on food safety, service quality, and working environment
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and business partners
Qualifications:
- Relevant education in gastronomy or related fields
- Solid experience within catering, preferably with managerial responsibility
- Knowledge of finance and budget management
- Knowledge of food safety and quality control
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
