Aramark UK are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our team at Elizabeth Barracks, Pirbright, Surrey, GU24 0QQ.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the shifts when the Head Chef is not present, producing up to 1000 meals at a time. You will be well organized and be able to work well under pressure.

⦁    This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 including alternate weekends. Shifts range between 6am – 7.30pm, leaving your evenings free - a rarity when you work within culinary! The annual salary is circa £29,000

A day in the life of a Sous Chef:
⦁    You will be running shifts and guiding your team when the Head Chef is not present, producing up to 1000 meals at a time – so organisation and the ability to thrive under pressure is required!
⦁    You will be organising and supporting your team to ensure a smooth operation daily, allocating tasks so that your team and time is fully utilised.
⦁    You will be producing food in line with recipe sheets, and have full knowledge of all menu items served, including allergen information. 
⦁    Management of production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage. You will also be placing orders and keeping records of any stock wastage, alongside receiving deliveries and ensuring they are stored correctly and the FIFO method is followed.
⦁    Carrying out deep cleans daily / weekly alongside your team, ensuring all staff are fully trained on their sections and have undertook any relevant training as required.

 

You’ll be set up for success if you have:
⦁    Must have resided in the UK for the past 3 years and have legal right to work
⦁    Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
⦁    Relevant culinary qualification and at least 2 years on the job experience acting as either a Sous or a Senior CDP
⦁    A trade test will be required for the interview
