We are looking for a Catering Supervisor to manage a team of Kitchen Staff and a Prisoner Workforce. Working a day shift only to give you that valuable work/life balance.

The role is at HMP Rye Hill, Onley, CV23 8SZ and involves working with and supervising enhanced inmates in the kitchens and catering for approximately 1050 people twice a day. You will manage the kitchen and train these enhanced inmates to learn vital life skills and gain qualifications.


You would be working an average of 37 hours/week at £13.30/hour. Shifts are between are between 07:00 - 18:00 on a rolling 3 on, 3 off shift patterns; meaning you know your shifts for the entire year in advance.

A day in the life of a Catering Supervisor:

  • Collaborate with a team of chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals, 3 times a day. You will be supervising and assisting enhanced inmates in the kitchen unit. 
  • You will be responsible for the preparation of basic quality foods within a set pre ordered menu. Ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy and all stock checks are conducted correctly. 
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and due diligence forms. 
  • Be an excellent collaborator and be able to deal with conflict if it arises. 

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • Resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have legal right to work and can pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Previous supervisory skills.
  • Relevant culinary qualification. 
  • Experience working in a large-scale kitchen.
