Aramark Defence is currently recruiting for a Steward Lead to join our team in Woolwich. The successful candidate will organise Team Members to deliver service effectively and monitor performance including performance feedback and conducting team appraisals.  

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities

Receive and deal with customer complaints appropriately and ensure compliments are shared with the team  

Organise monthly stock count and conduct appropriate brand standard audits  

Help in the recruitment and retention of Team Members  

Identifies and supports Team Members who can and are willing to evolve their careers within Aramark  

Train new Team Members to learn procedures and brand standards for all general tasks  

Support the effective delivery of special functions or events  

Ensure cleaning standards and safety procedures are adhered to  

Champion excellent customer service and effectively implement all customer communication tools provided by Marketing in order to build sales 

Compile a training plan and ensure that all on and off job training is carried out accordingly for all front of house staff  

Ensure all restaurant staff are knowledgeable of food menu, beverages available and the promotional calendar, their contents, recipes, accompaniments, and service.   

Maintain computerised point of sale system and ensure that all staff are fully trained to operate it efficiently  

Promote forward planning and ensure that the mise-en-place and ordering of stock is carried out according to the checklists and business levels  

Administration of schedules and salaries of all Team Members   

Maintain P&L accounts and make accurate projections (including raw materials, wages etc) for relevant component(s)  

Key Requirements

Food hygiene certificate Level 2/3  

Knowledge of applicable Health & Safety legislation   

2-3 years of experience in a catering or retail environment, desirably within Aramark  

Basic accounting knowledge  

Experience in leading teams  

Basic PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to work well with bespoke software applications  

Performs supervisory duties and exercises financial authority at the level established by management for this position  

Good understanding cost control and gross profit and Sales mix and the effect of promotions   

Ability to maintain a variety of operating and general records and to prepare reports
