Job Description

The Logistics Supervisor role is to work as an intermediary between the Warehouse Manager and the logistics team, with a focus on people management. The role works to serve to maintain a safe working environment for all logistics team members, having a strong knowledge and all understanding of all logistical processes relating to a stadium based contract caterer, including but not limited to; cellar operations, goods-in delivery procedures and C+E event logistics.

 

The supervisor role is to manage all floor operations, support the casual team in completing task, and ensure they are being completed to a satisfactory standard. A leader of the team, the supervisor will help to organise all logistical operations and ensure they are carried out in a safe and effective manner, whilst adhering to any required deadlines outlined by the operations team. Additional jobs would include supporting the logistics managers with administrative duties, such as creating rosters, work sheets & placing orders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of all dry stores and cellar areas.
  • Follow Brewery advice relating to line cleaning and maintenance of all cellar and beer tap areas, maintaining quality of draught product and cellar hygiene.
  • Ensure cellars are safe at all times, monitoring gas levels as well as spillages.
  • Assist with stock ordering, through company systems, as and when required.
  • Quality and accuracy control on all incoming goods and equipment, ensuring safe unloading and loading procedures are adhered to.
  • Management of the onsite, wet stock levels, ensuring a good rotation procedure is followed across all areas.
  • Monitoring stock levels throughout an event / matchday and replenishing in areas as required.
  • Carry out accurate stock takes at regular intervals, including full stock take end of each financial period.
  • Stock and goods distribution onsite, for all retail and premium areas and bars.
  • Ensure team follow all site and Aramark guidelines relating to health and safety and risk assessments, always including the wearing of correct PPE.
  • Working cross-departmental to provide an effective cellar and back of house service, including stock, furniture and equipment movements between bars, units and kitchens.
  • Following end of service of a live event, ensure all waste is removed and recorded if appropriate.

Responsibilities Continued

  • Raise any issues relating to relevant department or Warehouse Manager.
  • Reporting of any damage to any equipment in a timely manner.
  • Expected to handle varying items, ranging from drinks and alcohol (keg) stock to Bar and Kitchen equipment, CCG and Glass.
  • Safe handling of all goods, with frequent movement of food products to and from kitchens.
  • Any other duties requested by line manager or Head of Department, to ensure smooth running of the logistics department.
  • Supervise a team of Logistics Team Members day-to-day following all instruction outlaid by Logistics Manager / Operational teams, to adhere to given deadlines.
  • Be responsible for supervising a given area come live days, ensuring all logistics, cellar and warehouse operations run smoothly.
  • Report into the Warehouse Manager, providing updates on progress and successful and/or unsuccessful processes.
  • Work to aid the manager in the training and encouragement of development in Logistics Team Members and cellar porters to constantly improve the Logistics department.

Essential Experience

  • Previous Work in a Stadium or event catering Environment.
  • Knowledge of Cellar services relating to a caterer, including but not limited to Line-Cleaning processes.
  • Warehouse or Stores experience.
  • Previous work as a supervisor/manager of small teams of casual staff.
  • Experience across departments within catering.

Desired Experience

  • Front of House Retail / Hospitality Experience.
  • Back of House / Kitchen Porterage Experience.
  • Forklift / Pallet Truck experience.
