We are currently recruiting for a Financial Control Senior Manager to be based in our Leeds Office. The successful candidate will Support the financial controller in providing leadership and direction to the control function by maintaining and developing a framework of rigorous internal financial control. They will also take responsibility for all aspects of financial control and reporting to the US. This is a full time and permanent role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Promoting a strong control environment by driving the control & risk agenda and developing /improving existing financial controls both centrally and for all regional accounting
  • Identify key risk area’s in the NE balance sheet and drive process improvement to mitigate
  • Ensuring all Aramark accounting policy/US GAAP is followed consistently across the NE region. 
  • Critical review of regional approach & implementation of local interpretation of overarching US policy.
  • Provide technical and general accounting & GAAP support and guidance to the wider NE business
  • Responsible for all financial policies and procedures being fully documented and up to date 
  • Oversight of HFM reporting requirements (US month end reporting)
  • Summarise & report on the balance sheet reviews to senior management, identify any corrective actions and ensure these are completed on timely basis
  • Coordinate and own the quarterly and annual reporting requirements to the US (QRP/SEC)
  • Coordinate creation of the Balance Sheet, Working Capital and Cashflow plan & forecast, ensure this reconciles fully with reported results and be responsible for providing in depth explanations to variances with actual results / amendments to forecast
  • Oversight of transformation and bonus provisions
  • Responsible for entity rationalisation programme
  • Assist in providing support to the business for accounting and control issues relating to acquisitions
  • Constant monitoring of systems and procedures; identify and recommend opportunities for improvement and efficiencies; lead change process as appropriate 
  • Proactively develop individuals within the Control team to enable them to achieve both the business and their career goals
  • Be involved with ad hoc projects as required by the NE Financial Controller
  • Travel to the Dublin Head Office will be required on an ad hoc basis

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA equiv) with strong technical accounting skills 
  • Strong people & project management skills
  • Big 4 experience
  • Previous US GAAP and SOX exposure
  • Management of a small/medium team
  • Customer Focus – internal as well as external
  • Track record in identifying and driving improvement through transformation / LEAN experience
  • Experience in developing strong financial controls and reporting
  • High levels of integrity and ethics
  • Self Starter
  • Possess energy and positive attitude with a desire to drive constant improvement and change
  • Deadline / results orientated
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency 
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written 
  • Dealing with ambiguity and complexity
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – a naturally inquiring approach
