Aramark  is currently recruiting for a Store Keeper to join our team in Topcliffe, Thirsk, North Yorkshire. 
The main objective of this role is to deliver the correct issue of Petrol/Oil/Lubricants to Unit Personnel


This is a full-time role working 39 hours per week. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to the MTO for the accounting, controls and safeguard of all unit stocks (including reserve stocks), accountable containers and documents. 
  • Prepare the account for the Regimental Orderly Officer at the start of each day, to enable him/her to carry out a dip check of all bulk fuel holdings and compare figures against the account. 
  • Maintain the Regiment’s holdings of packed fuel and oil, ensuring the ‘shelf life’ of each product is not exceeded and min stock levels are maintained based on three months turnover. 
  • As the Fuel Accountant you are to ensure: All stocks of POL and associated items, containers and accountable documents are adequately safeguarded and protected against pilfering, misuse and fraud by constantly reviewing procedures. Strict control of the use of kerbside pumps by authorised persons only. Daily monitoring of unit issues. The Fuel Accountant or the person nominated by the MTO during his absence, are the only person(s) who make entries in the POL account. Staff are supervised and trained regularly as instructed by the MTO. Stock checks of holdings (including duty fuel coupons) are completed monthly. 
  • The Fuel Accountant or the MT SNCO are to supervise receipts of Bulk Fuel from TTFs/UBRE/Civilian Tankers using the procedures as laid down in Materiel Regulations Vol 5, Pam 1-2. 
  • At the end of the month you are to calculate gains and losses of bulk stocks using the formula in Materiel Regulations Vol 5, Pam 1-2, para 178, submit surpluses as a CRV and losses less than 1% of opening stocks plus receipts to the MTO for signature. Any losses greater than 1% are to be submitted to the MTO, as a CIV, for investigation and possible AF G998 action. 
  • You are to submit all consumption and container returns, as required by current legislation, at the correct time. 
  • Update the MT SNCO on daily matters of: Fuel held, contaminated fuel held, packed fuel levels and any problem areas. 
  • Open and operate BFI when requested by sub-units or detailed by the MTO.
  • Knowledge of all applicable systems and processes
  • Knowledge of company timelines and deadlines
  • Knowledge of customer and client documentation, competition and deadlines
  • Ensure that any equipment issues that may result in causing risk to staff or client and customers are reported to the health and safety helpline.
  • Provide support to the regional team in areas of Administration as required.
  • Provide mobilization support for new business around systems and adminastrative tasks.


  • Excellent numeracy skills; strong written and verbal skills.
  • IT (MS Word/Excel).
  • Driving licence is required
  • Forklift licence is desirable
  • DBS clearance before able to commence in the role
  • Previous experience of working in an Administration or Data Entry role, with good organisational and system skills. 
  • Fully confident with bespoke software applications 
  • Ability and full confidence in producing reports
  • Build & Maintain Customer and Supplier relations
  • Able to multitask
  • Ability to meet deadlines
