Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Cook in their Education sector to join our team at Wyke College Sixth Form, Hull.  

You will be responsible for food preparation and kitchen operations, supporting the Catering Manager in delivering consistent food quality and service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of high-quality meals and snacks for students, staff, and visitors in line with menu specifications.  
  • Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to a high standard while maintaining consistency and portion control.  
  • Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations, including HACCP procedures.  
  • Assist with menu planning and the development of nutritious, appealing meal options suitable for a college environment.  
  • Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and storing deliveries appropriately.  
  • Minimise food waste through effective stock rotation and portion management.  
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times.  
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.  
  • Support the catering team during service periods to ensure an efficient and customer-focused operation 
  • Engage positively with students and staff, providing excellent customer service and responding professionally to feedback.  
  • Assist with special events, themed menus, open days, and hospitality functions as required.  
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet service targets, budgets, and catering objectives. 

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a professional catering or educational environment.  
  • Level 3 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain).  
  • Knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements.  
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.  
  • Passion for delivering nutritious, high-quality food and excellent customer service
