Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in Galway, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen team and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen environment. Your efficiency, attention to detail, and collaborative approach will directly contribute to the success of our organisation and the delivery of exceptional service. - Receive, check, and correctly store deliveries and stock items, maintaining organised inventory systems with meticulous attention to detail - Perform daily and deep cleaning schedules as directed, demonstrating commitment to excellence and the highest hygiene standards

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and general kitchen duties as required, working collaboratively to support team objectives - Follow all food safety, health and safety, and hygiene procedures at all times, demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining a safe work environment - Handle kitchen equipment and utensils with care, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and safe operation
• Maintain an organised and efficient workflow within the kitchen, contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment - Respond promptly to requests from kitchen and management staff, demonstrating flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing kitchen demands - Identify and address operational challenges with a problem-solving mindset, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive kitchen culture where all team members feel valued and respected - Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance in accordance with organisational standards

• Positive and proactive attitude with genuine commitment to excellence and continuous improvement - Reliable, hardworking, and punctual approach to work with strong time-keeping skills - Strong ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, demonstrating empathy and inclusivity - Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail in all tasks
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment without compromising quality - Unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards - Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks safely and responsibly - Good manual dexterity and ability to handle kitchen equipment with care and precision
• Basic communication skills and willingness to take direction from supervisors and team members - Genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional development within the hospitality industry - Awareness of food safety and health and safety procedures (comprehensive induction and training will be provided) - Flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing kitchen demands and priorities
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and address operational challenges - Physical fitness and capability to meet the physical demands of the role - Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions consistently - Desirable: Previous kitchen porter, catering, or cleaning experience (not essential, as comprehensive onboarding and training will be provided)
