Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in Galway, Ireland. In this role, you will lead a specific station within our kitchen, overseeing food preparation, quality control, and team coordination. You will work collaboratively with our head chef and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and organization.
- Lead and manage a designated kitchen station (partie), ensuring consistent preparation and presentation of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes while maintaining efficiency during service periods
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff assigned to your station, providing constructive feedback and guidance
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and plating consistency to meet organizational standards
- Manage inventory, food costs, and ordering for your assigned station
- Maintain meticulous cleanliness and organization of your station and equipment
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and food handling protocols
- Collaborate effectively with the head chef, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff to support smooth kitchen operations
- Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements based on culinary expertise and customer feedback
- Assist with kitchen setup and breakdown as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Chef de Partie or in a similar senior kitchen position
- Advanced culinary skills and expertise in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency
- Preferred: Experience with European or Irish cuisine
- Preferred: Background in menu development and culinary innovation
- Preferred: Experience training and developing kitchen staff
