And we need talented, energetic, passionate people to help us do it. We are looking for a for a permanent, full time Business Development Manager to report directly into the Head of Sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and building a pipeline of food opportunities across our business within the UK. Ideally based in the North of England or Scotland, you will be experienced in Contract Catering Sales, with cross-sector experience (mainly B&I, NHS, visitor attractions sectors, but some knowledge of soft FM and education would be beneficial)

Your Role:

You will:

  • Be responsible for developing and converting the pipeline into live opportunities through a tender or proposal process
  • Take full ownership of the sales process from creation of new opportunities, meeting prospects to contract signoff, including proposal development, financial sign off and client negotiation
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and the support team, to ensure information is up to date and relevant to the client and Aramark requirements
  • Work closely with the Operations teams to ensure they are fully on board with the solution being proposed
  • Manage Salesforce for the activity and ensures it is always up to date
  • Develop and enhance a food prospect pipeline through engagement, networking, and event attendance
  • Map out the potential prospects for the area and build relationships with the relevant buyers within those accounts
  • Prioritise “must win” accounts and have a strategy for how they will be converted
  • Review all tender invites for the area and agree whether they are a “real” opportunity that fits into the company sales strategy
  • Work closely with the bid writers to agree style and design of the documentation as appropriate
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure the financial build will meet with the client’s objectives and Aramark’s profit requirements
  • Where a presentation is required, create the plan and coordinate all the necessary materials and resources needed
  • Lead negotiations with the client to close the deal
  • Maintain the Salesforce database with up to date and accurate information
  • Establish clear and appropriate levels of communications with all team members within business development, operations and functional support team
  • Build relationships with team members to facilitate effective sharing of best practice and open and honest relationships
  • Ensure full compliance with all required legislation and internal policies and procedures



Key Requirements:

You will have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in either a similar role, or within other departments within the contract catering industry
  • Proven track record of performance and be goal orientated
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Effective strategic, analytical and decision-making skills with innovative and creative ideas
  • Self-motivation & drive
  • Visionary leadership
  • Effective communication skills; oral, written, presentation, influencing and negotiation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and ideally Salesforce or similar system
  • Influencing skills, both coaching and motivating a diverse team
  • Successfully worked with a range of clients
