Job Title: Head Chef (Term Time Role) - 42 Working Weeks + Paid Holiday 
Annual salary £28,891.00 (equated over 52.178 weeks) 
Location : High School of Dundee, Euclid Cresent, Dundee DD1 1HU  

 


Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Head Chef to join our team working at the High School of Dundee providing a range of daily catering options to both Junior & Senior School pupils and staff. 
 

You will be responsible for the kitchen operation, cost efficiency and production of innovative quality food in line with agreed budgets to improve sales as well as any Hospitality catering for the school.

  • This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with the occasional Saturday / weekend if required.
  • Shifts range between 7am – 3pm generally.

A day in the life of a Head Chef

  • Train and leads culinary and kitchen employees to use standard methodology food production technique and ensure quality in final presentation of food.
  • Placing orders and menu production, you will be responsible for stock management and managing your P&L.
  • Computer literate for basic systems and record completion  
  • Ensure Kitchen hygiene is maintained, records are completed and any deviances are identified and corrected.
  • Identifies the training needs of staff and carries out the relevant training in new procedures, methods of working or use of new equipment and cleaning products.
  • Implement any new company policy decisions and train staff accordingly.
  • Capability to develop innovative solutions in the most financially efficient way possible.
  • Full compliance with operational excellence fundamentals: managing waste, standard menus, recipes and ingredients through handling customer driven menus and labour standards. Understands end to end supply chain and procurement process and systems, ensures only authorised suppliers are used.

 

You will be set up for success if you have:

  • Relevant culinary qualifications
  • Previous experience acting as a Head Chef / Sous Chef
  • Clean Enhanced DBS.
  • Experience in a similar educational environment.
  • Can do attitude with a willingness to learn. Proactive in attitude.
