Job Description
To deliver professional, safe, and compliant plumbing and mechanical maintenance services across a portfolio of facilities in Ireland. The role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, heating, and gas systems, while also supporting other general building maintenance tasks as part of a multi-skilled mobile facilities support team.
The position requires an RGI-certified professional capable of working independently and ensuring compliance with Irish Building Regulations, IS 813:2015, and Health and Safety Authority (HSA) requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive plumbing maintenance on various commercial and public buildings.
Diagnose and repair issues within heating systems, hot and cold water services, sanitation, and drainage systems.
Install, service, and commission gas-fired appliances and systems in accordance with RGI and IS 813:2015 standards.
Conduct gas safety testing, leak detection, and compliance certification.
Support the operation and maintenance of boilers, pumps, pipework, and heating controls.
Respond promptly to emergency callouts and reactive works, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
Carry out minor multi-skilled maintenance tasks (e.g. basic carpentry, painting, or general building fabric repairs) as required.
Maintain accurate documentation for all works through CAFM systems, mobile apps, or paper-based records.
Comply with all HSA, Safe Pass, and Manual Handling safety requirements, and promote a strong safety culture.
Manage materials, spare parts, and tools effectively to ensure efficient service delivery.
Provide excellent communication and customer service, representing the company professionally at all times.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
National Craft Certificate or QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Plumbing (or equivalent).
Registered Gas Installer (RGI) certification (current or eligible).
Proven experience in commercial and/or industrial plumbing maintenance.
Strong understanding of Irish Building Regulations (Part G – Hygiene, Part J – Heat Producing Appliances).
Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence.
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
Competent in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
Comfortable using digital reporting tools or CAFM systems.
Qualifications
Desirable:
Experience working in facilities management, healthcare, education, or corporate environments.
Valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working at Height, and Confined Space certification.
Experience with commercial boilers, pressurisation units, or renewable heating systems (e.g., heat pumps).
Awareness of Legionella control, water hygiene, and pressure system safety.
Additional trade skills (minor electrical, carpentry, or mechanical knowledge).
