Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Carpentry Technician is to deliver high-quality carpentry services across a range of tasks, including maintenance, repairs, and installations in both commercial and residential settings. While the role may include fire door and fire-stopping work to ensure compliance with Irish legislation and safety standards, the core focus is on general carpentry duties such as door and frame installations, flooring, partitioning, and bespoke woodwork. The technician will be expected to work independently or as part of a team to support our clients with professional, reliable, and safe carpentry solutions.

Job Responsibilities
Carpentry Responsibilities
- Taking precise measurements and preparing the site for woodworking activities.
- Developing detailed drawings for cabinetry, framing, and other on-site construction projects.
- Designing and installing custom wooden shelves, cabinets, and drywall.
- Installing fixtures and fittings, including handles, locks, and hinges.
- Selecting and evaluating materials for potential defects.
- Reading and interpreting designs to comply with specifications provided by architects.
- Coordinating with clients, suppliers, and mechanical/electrical technicians.
- Adhering to all standards during kitchenette/canteen and office remodelling projects.
- Sourcing timber based on size, strength, and budget for woodworking or joinery endeavours.
- Assessing and reviewing additional carpentry or joinery refurbishments.
- Executing finish carpentry tasks, including siding, flooring, and built-in installations.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant trade qualification, such as carpentry, joinery, or fire safety.
- Certification in fire door inspection and installation (e.g., BM TRADA, FDIS, or an equivalent).
- A minimum of five years of experience in carpentry or joinery.
- At least two years of experience in fire door inspection, maintenance, or installation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- A full, clean driving license.
Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of Irish fire safety legislation and standards.
- Proficient in utilising digital inspection, compliance, and reporting tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and reporting abilities
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certification in passive fire protection (e.g., ASFP Level 2 or 3, IFC, or an equivalent).
- Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Working at Height certifications
