Job Description
Aramark Property is seeking a dedicated and proactive General Operative to join the estate management team at a recently completed, prestigious mixed-use development in Dublin Docklands. This vibrant campus includes offices, residential units, and retail spaces, including food and beverage outlets. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of the estate, contributing to a first-class experience for all visitors and occupiers.As part of a close-knit on-site team, the General Operative will be responsible for a variety of tasks, ranging from waste management and general maintenance to contractor supervision and ensuring a safe environment. This role requires a hands-on approach, a strong work ethic, and excellent attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities
- Day-to-day operation of the waste processing room, including the use of a weighing system, compactors, a bio-digester (for food waste), and cardboard and plastic balers. Full training will be provided, but experience in a comparable environment is desirable.
- Managing the collection of all processed waste, including full compactors, Dolav containers of compost, and compacted bales of cardboard and plastic.
- Maintenance and Repairs:
- Working alongside the Technical Facilities Manager to ensure that all estate equipment is maintained and serviced according to the planned maintenance schedule.
- Attending to reactive and preventative general maintenance tasks, including painting, minor plumbing, and other ad-hoc repairs.
- Contractor Management:
- Supervising and coordinating third-party contractors attending the site.
- Inspecting completed works to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Site Operations and Safety:
- Assisting with daily site inspections and preventative fire safety management planning.
- Supporting operational logistics.
- Taking responsibility for instructing on-site cleaners regarding additional spillages or staining identified during daily walks and inspections.
- Managing the distribution of keys and fobs to contractors and ensuring their safe return.
- Carrying out emergency procedures in the event of a fire, flood, break-in, accident, etc.
- Complying with all relevant Health & Safety requirements.
- Being familiar with and ensuring that fire, health, and safety regulations are adhered to throughout the estate and car park by conducting inspections, checking signage, and advising on defects.
- Assist in site set up & de-rig where required for Events hosted on the estate.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaising with occupiers of the buildings to establish constructive and positive relationships.
- General Upkeep:
- Working with the estate team to ensure the fabric and finish of the overall site are properly maintained and in good condition.
Qualifications
- Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven maintenance skills and/or industrial machine experience.
- Familiarity with a range of common plant and equipment used on site.
- Ability to effectively supervise contractors.
- Ability to maintain detailed on-site records and report to the Technical Operations Manager in a clear and concise manner.
- Good mechanical/electrical knowledge and background.
- Highly organized, motivated, and possessing a positive "can-do" attitude to work.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work independently and use own initiative.
- Clean driver’s license.
- Forklift driving experience (preferable with a valid ticket).
