Job Description
Position Summary:
The role holder will support the Regional Director & OFC through the delivery of a high-quality finance reporting, analysis & best practice support across multiple client types in a multi-site, service focused, business environment. The successful candidate will be working alongside the Regional Director to ensure timely & accurate reporting & forecasting. They will also ensure financial controls, integrity and accuracy are maintained & developed in line with company policy and work with the business leaders to deliver best practice and commercially focused finance solutions. They will also be responsible for providing effective leadership & challenge on commercially driven projects to enable the region to meet or exceed its financial commitments.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a finance business partner to the regional operations team.
- Working alongside the Regional Director to drive & supervise business efficiency programs.
- Lead regional monthly finance reviews with regional operations management. Reporting then on to the Leadership Team.
- Develop an understanding of the operational, financial & legal aspects of the contracts within Region. Maintaining key commercial data sources for the region.
- Support as the need arises in the commercial elements of client negotiations
- Proactively review and report on the commercial opportunities & risks in the region
- Understand key financial and contractual drivers in each contract to both ensure accurate accounting & improve commercial opportunities
- Highlight commercial opportunities & monitor implementation
- Advise operations on the success or otherwise of commercial initiatives based on meaningful experience and data analysis.
- Lead regional post mobilization new business reviews in conjunction with the specific lead operator reporting back to the business on key findings & future recommendations.
- Support retention & new business bids as the need arises
- Ad hoc projects as required by OFC or UK Finance Director
- Consolidate accurate & timely monthly accounts for area of responsibility
- Provision of information for & attendance at monthly financial reviews with the Operations Management Team.
- Compile and supervise key balance sheet reconciliations. Preparing the quarterly review pack and specific monthly requirements.
- Lead, review & challenge forecast with operations.
- Coordinate, consolidate, challenge & summarize Annual Regional Plan
- Ensure that all client reporting is delivered in a timely & accurate manner be it regional or as part of a group regional led contract. Constantly seek to add value and improve such reporting.
- Debt monitoring & exception follow up as required
- Complete any contractual changes, openings & closures forms as appropriate
- Support the OFC with SOX compliance & checks
- Coordinate Regional capital expenditure as required.
- Supervise overheads to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
- Support the OFC in the production of the Monthly Regional Board report
- Support the annual bonus scheme calculations and monitoring
- Support the OFC & FD to ensure compliance with required financial policies & procedures
- Collaborate closely with Internal Audit to drive standard methodology and minimize fraudulent activities. Ensure all audit actions from a financial perspective are closed out
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge and key attributes:
- Qualified Accountant
- Demonstrate an understanding of the operational, financial & legal aspects of commercial negotiations
- Demonstrate a broader business awareness beyond the financial arena
- Extensive experience of Financial systems & Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel
- Self-motivated, constantly looking to challenge and improve working practices
- Ability to influence and to build working relationships across all departments
- Negotiation & Influencing Skills
- Experience in a contract-based environment industry preferable, but not essential
- Multi-site experience in the service sector
- Ability to work in a multifaceted environment and promote team working
- Ability to multi-task and remain professional under pressure
