Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Section Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in Dublin, Ireland. In this pivotal role, you will lead a section of our kitchen, ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional food preparation and maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence. You will work collaboratively with our Head Chef and kitchen brigade to drive innovation whilst upholding our commitment to quality and efficiency. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to develop your leadership skills within a professional, supportive kitchen environment.

  • Lead and manage your assigned kitchen section, ensuring all food preparation meets our exacting standards and brand specifications - Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in accordance with established recipes and culinary techniques - Mentor and support junior kitchen staff, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Maintain meticulous standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness, ensuring full compliance with HACCP procedures and food safety documentation - Manage inventory, portion control, and cost efficiency within your section, contributing to overall kitchen profitability - Develop and refine menu items, working innovatively with the Head Chef to enhance our culinary offerings
  • Communicate effectively with all kitchen team members and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery - Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any maintenance issues promptly - Respond decisively to challenges during service, maintaining composure and resilience under pressure - Contribute to a positive, inclusive kitchen culture that values continuous improvement and professional development

Qualifications

**Essential** - Relevant culinary qualification or equivalent professional training - Minimum 2–3 years' experience working in a professional kitchen environment - Proven experience working within an industrial, commercial, or contract catering setting - Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP procedures and food safety documentation - Demonstrated leadership experience managing kitchen staff or a section team

  • Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and menu planning - Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently - Proficiency in cost control, inventory management, and portion control - Strong people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams - Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene

**Desirable** - Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment - Knowledge of contemporary culinary trends and innovative cooking techniques - Experience with kitchen management systems or food ordering software - Relevant food safety certifications (e.g., Level 3 Food Safety in Catering)

  • Experience in menu development and recipe costing - Familiarity with dietary requirements and allergen management
