Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our dynamic catering team in Dublin, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy catering operation, supporting the delivery of high-quality food services whilst maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service. You will work collaboratively with our team to ensure smooth daily operations and contribute to creating a welcoming environment for all our customers.

• Assist with food preparation and service, following prescribed portion control methods and established service procedures - Serve food and beverages to customers with a friendly and professional demeanour - Answer customer enquiries regarding allergens, menu items, and dietary requirements with confidence and accuracy - Restock food, beverages, and merchandise displays in a timely and organised manner
• Clean and maintain back-of-house areas, counters, and service areas to the highest standards - Clean and maintain light catering equipment, ensuring all items are fit for purpose - Report customer feedback, complaints, stock requirements, breakages, faults, and potential hazards to management promptly
• Complete daily paperwork and maintain accurate records as required - Adhere strictly to food hygiene, food safety, and health and safety procedures at all times - Support the wider catering team to ensure efficient daily operations and a positive working environment - Undertake training and development activities as directed - Demonstrate flexibility in working a variety of shifts and adapting to operational needs

Qualifications

• Previous catering or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided - Excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers - Strong customer service orientation with a genuine desire to exceed expectations - Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team - Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and genuine willingness to learn and develop
• Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards - Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work - Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods during shifts - Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns as required by the operation
• Basic numeracy skills for portion control and stock management - Willingness to maintain rigorous personal and environmental hygiene standards - Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety protocols consistently - Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced working environment
