Job Description

The Bid Manager will primarily be responsible for Food and FM bids, both new and retention across the Irish business. You will have the ability to shape and improve ways of working while creating efficiencies across the team. You will have the opportunity to challenge and improve business solutions to create the best bid proposals, tailored to client needs. Bid projects will present unique challenges, opportunities and learnings. You will work closely with our Sales Directors, Business Development Manager as well as all Operations Directors and support teams across the business.  


The right candidate will have excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.

Job Responsibilities

•    The Bid Manager will manage a number of bid submission concurrently while supporting teams in developing the approach for longer term opportunities.
•    Manage the Tender process through all stages and actively engage with the sales and operation functions to create innovative and best in class tender documents.
•    Collaborate with sales, operations, legal and commercial professionals, to ensure on-time completion and a high level of quality.
•    Deliver completed written proposal responses to reviewers against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
•    Prepare proposal responses with the support of a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, operational teams, marketing, supply chain, IT, commercial and legal.
•    Direct contribution of text to proposal documents and presentations, relating to our differentiators/competitive advantages, including original writing where required e.g. executive summaries, case studies.
•    Understand the key tender win themes, or differentiators so that they are reflected within the proposal.
•    Preparation of presentation decks to support the sales and operations team on all opportunities.
•    Ability to coach technical and operations teams and subject matter experts in writing best practice.
•    Enhance and continuously improve the overall efficiency and delivery of the teams bid process.
•    Continuous support of the Food, FM and property sales divisions 
•    Monitor the tenders@ inbox to track and record all bid opportunities (new and retention) and work with the team to agree bid/no bid decisions 
•    Working with SME’s to update content as required 
•    Development of case studies to support tender submissions 
•    General bid team requirements as needed including invoicing and ensuring our content library is kept up to date.

Qualifications

•    Strong attention to detail with strong editing and proof-reading skills
•    A high level of speed and accuracy 
•    Flexibility to work around deadlines and be highly organised
•    Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment 
•    Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and work on multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet deadlines
•    Creative writing skills
•    A team player who can also work on their own initiative
•    Ability to manage multiple deadlines and be calm under pressure
•    Excellent knowledge of PowerPoint and Word packages
•    Qualified to Degree level
•    Ability to build professional relationships and good inter-personal skills
•    Knowledge of InDesign or a desire to learn the software
