Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, friendly environment? We’re looking for a dedicated Food Service Assistant to join our front-of-house catering team at the University of Derby’s Kedleston Road campus.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a vibrant university community, where your role will be key in creating a welcoming and efficient dining experience for students, staff, and visitors.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Food Service Assistant, you’ll be the face of our catering service, ensuring high standards of food presentation, cleanliness, and customer care. Your responsibilities will include:

• Customer Service & Sales
• Taking food and drink orders
• Operating tills and handling cash/card transactions
• Responding to customer queries and complaints professionally
• Food & Beverage Service
• Preparing and serving meals, snacks, and beverages
• Assisting with the preparation of simple dishes, sandwiches, and drinks
• Setting up and presenting food spreads, buffets, and catering stations

• Friendly and approachable with excellent customer service skills
• A strong team player with good communication abilities
• Reliable and committed to maintaining hygiene and safety standards
• Comfortable working in a busy environment and handling transactions
