Job Description
The Food Service Worker is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. The Cook should safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all food hygiene regulations are adhered to, particularly HACCP regulations.
- Check in food deliveries, ensuring only the highest standard of produce is accepted into the units.
- Ensure all food storage complies with hygiene regulations and follow the F.I.F.O stock rotation system.
- Perform cleaning duties associated with service and related equipment and/or furniture.
- Prepare service areas and/or service points.
- Correctly store food items and equipment after service.
- Maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform according to company regulations at all times.
- Comply with and assist in promoting and implementing the company’s health and safety policy.
- Monitor and record food and equipment temperatures.
- Assist in other unit kitchens onsite during quieter hospitality periods.
- Be aware of safety hazards within the kitchen and surrounding areas and report them to your line manager.
- Carry out other duties assigned by your line manager from time to time to ensure smooth running of the department.
Qualifications
- A keen interest in food and service
- Previous experience
- Good knowledge of Food Hygiene, including HACCP
- Good understanding of English
