Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in Cork, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a hardworking and reliable individual seeking to contribute to a busy, professional kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety whilst supporting our kitchen team in delivering exceptional service.

• Maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout all kitchen areas, including food preparation and storage spaces - Assist with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental and organisational guidelines
• Support the receipt, inspection, and correct storage of deliveries and stock items - Perform daily and deep cleaning schedules as directed, ensuring all equipment and surfaces are sanitised to the required standard - Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and general kitchen duties as required - Follow all food safety, health and safety, and hygiene procedures at all times
• Maintain organised and efficient workflow within the kitchen, contributing to a collaborative team environment - Handle kitchen equipment and utensils with care, ensuring proper storage and maintenance - Respond promptly to requests from kitchen and management staff, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach - Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive kitchen culture

Qualifications

• Positive and proactive attitude with a commitment to excellence - Reliable, hardworking, and punctual approach to work - Strong ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team - Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding environment - Unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest cleanliness and hygiene standards - Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks - Good manual dexterity and ability to handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly - Basic communication skills and willingness to take direction
• Genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional development - Previous kitchen porter, catering, or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as comprehensive induction and training will be provided - Awareness of food safety and health and safety procedures (training provided) - Flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing kitchen demands
