Kitchen Porter / Assistant – Chichester College
Location: Westgate Fields, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1SB
Salary: £12.21 per hour
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (52 weeks per year)
Hours: 35 hours per week, 5 days over 7
Shifts: Typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends
Shift patterns: 07:00–14:30 / 10:30–18:00

We’re currently recruiting a Kitchen Porter / Assistant to join our friendly catering team at Chichester College. If you're organised, hardworking, and take pride in keeping things clean and running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You’ll play a vital role behind the scenes, supporting the kitchen and front-of-house teams by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food prep, and helping with service during busy periods.

What you’ll be doing:

• Washing dishes, pots, and kitchen equipment
• Supporting kitchen hygiene through regular cleaning tasks
• Assisting with low-level food preparation, when required
• Helping with front-of-house cleaning and occasional food service
• Receiving deliveries, storing stock correctly, and completing basic paperwork
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout all kitchen and service areas

• A strong eye for cleanliness, hygiene, and attention to detail
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team
