We are currently recruiting a number of Chefs to join our amazing team working at Albemarle Barracks, Harlow Hill, NE15 0RF

• Salary starting at £11 per hour – currently being reviewed
• Full time! 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 with variable shift patterns ranging between 7am – 9pm
• Paid overtime shifts available to cover functions and special occasions

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and serve food to the highest standard
• Effective and efficient food production in line with recipe sheets
• Full knowledge of all menu items served
• Management of production to ensure minimal wastage
• Maintenance of food levels throughout all service periods
• Maintenance of food quality and brand standards
• Ensuring the maintenance of high hygiene and health and safety standards in line with Aramark requirements and identify any anomalies and incidents
• Capturing and recording all volumes consumed and overproduction
• Assisting in the compilation of all shift opening and closing checklists
• Discussing ideas or improvements with line manager
• Act as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.
• Undertake relevant training as required 
• In addition to the above, Chefs may occasionally be required to undertake ad hoc duties in line with business requirements.
   

Experience

• Friendly and flexible to duties – a real team player!
• NVQ Level 2 Culinary or equivalent is desirable – but previous experience is also considered
• DBS check required
• Own transport desirable due to the remote location of the site
• Food hygiene certificate – Level 2 or the willingness to work towards this via our online elearning
• Previous experience in a kitchen working as a chef or similar
