We are currently looking for a Chef Assistant to work with our integral team at Richmond Centre, Munster Barracks, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3PZ

• Hourly rate of £11.55
• Full time – 35 hours per week – 5 days over 7
• Shifts range between 6.30am – 3pm

What you'll be doing

Assisting Chefs with day to day cooking and prepping of food
Potential to train to get your NVQ level 2 in culinary 
You will be performing the day to day tasks of a Chef and learning on the job
Work well as part of a team, supporting one another and communicating well
Learning how to follow recipe cards to prepare, cook and serve a range of meals
Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence 
Assisting with deliveries and stock checks
Placing food orders and maintaining kitchen records
To share responsibility with the Chef manager/Catering manager for the checking, probing and signing of all food deliveries
To monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets and serveries.
Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans
Full knowledge of all menu items served
Undertake relevant training as required 
 

Experience

• No experience, just a willingness to learn and a passion for cooking! 
• Excellent team player and communicator
• DBS required
• Flexibility and the ability to innovate
