Location:  HMP Parc, Bridgend, CF35 6AP 
Pay: £14.66 per hour  
Contract type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (with alternate weekends off) 
Shift times: Between 7am and 6pm –great worklife balance 

  

We’re looking for three Sous Chefs to join our catering team at HMP Parc, Bridgend. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated chef ready to step into a leadership role. You’ll take ownership of the day‑to‑day kitchen operation, supervising a team of chefs and working alongside enhanced inmates, helping to ensure the unit runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervising and supporting chefs and enhanced inmates to deliver meals three times a day
  • Preparing and serving quality food within a pre‑ordered menu structure
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and compliance
  • Completing relevant paperwork and due diligence accurately
  • Supporting a positive kitchen culture and confidently managing challenges when they arise
  • Completing any required training to support the role.

What we're looking for:

  • UK residency for the past 5 years with legal right to work 
  • Ability to pass full DBS and security vetting 
  • Previous supervisory or team‑leading experience 
  • Relevant culinary qualification 
  • Experience working in a large‑scale or high‑volume kitchen 
  • Effective communication skills and a calm, professional approach.
