Every day, we deliver an impact wherever people work, learn, recover and play and we need talented, energetic, passionate people to help us do it. We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Marketing and Student Liaison Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a keen marketing student to join our catering team on Client Site in Birmingham on a part time basis, 10 hours a week around their studies. We are looking for a candidate who is keen to develop their skills and career potential within a progressive and innovative food services environment. The individual will gain valuable on-the-job paid work experience. The successful candidate will assume responsibility (with the support of the General Manager) for implementing Aramark local and centrally driven marketing campaigns through all 3 sites, on all platforms available. Also, to develop and enhance these campaigns with support and training and roll out in direct liaison with the College marketing department, student services and student unions. In addition, they will monitor success, evaluate and adapt the college campaigns.They will also enhance the student experience, via a structured proactive programme, improved social media and increased interaction.This position is a great platform to build on the job paid work experience and gain understanding of operations and retail activities to identify and roll out workable solutions that will add value to the students and the business

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and peers
  • Attend daily and weekly business meetings
  • Identify opportunities at unit level and investigate potential
  • Facilitate the roll out and effective participation in annual customer surveys
  • Assist in the development of marketing activity plan to deliver traceable results to the business. 
  • Agree under guidance a calendar of relevant promotional activities to drive participation and sales using the examples available on the online tool kit and corporate promotions
  • Attend Aramark training courses
  • Regular reporting and review with the General Manager
  • Ensure retail display and merchandising standards are maintained
  • Ensure effective use of all marketing and retail tools 
  • Full participation in promotions such as Health and Wellbeing and retail promotions 
  • Embed the retail behaviours required to support the concepts and retail offers
  • Support the Account Manager and Head Chef as required in introducing specific concepts 
  • Activities will include customer research, liaison with external suppliers and liaison with food development teams
  • Obtain feedback on the concepts, products and special deal campaigns
  • Under manager and college guidance effectively use social media platforms to roll out marketing push campaigns and restaurant news
