Title:  Maintenance Technician (Electrical)

Job Description

We are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician who will carry out Electrical tasks on Catering & Laundry, and general accommodation, electrical equipment in support of Facilities Management operations both on and offshore. 

Job Responsibilities

1. Carry out maintenance and service tasks on equipment within the galley, laundry and accommodation including planned preventative routines, investigation of faults, breakdown and general repairs.
2. Be familiar with all types of commercial catering equipment, ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers, mixers, waste disposal units etc
3. Maintain equipment reports and ensure inventory information and manuals are kept up to date
4. Identify and produce spare part requirements of equipment, assist in the procurement of same
5. Prepare and produce site visit reports
6. Carry out Portable Appliance Testing, Distribution Board Testing, Maintenance of Lighting Systems Earth Continuity and Insulation checks
7. To liaise with unit managers at siteAssist with projects and refurbishments as requested or directed by the line supervision
8. Assist with projects and refurbishments as requested or directed by the line supervision
9. Ensure all tools and equipment used in the execution of these tasks are in good order and comply with applicable regulations
10. To liaise with client, both management and technical staff with regard tasks and execution thereof at the individual client units
11. Carry out installation of new or replacement equipment
12. Carry out other or additional tasks within his/her competency or capability as required by management

Key Skills and Experience Required

1.  To have completed an electrical trade apprenticeship and holding the following certification:
   1. City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 electrical trade certificate, or similar.
   2. ONC / HNC in relevant electrical discipline, or
   3. Government Training scheme, HM Forces, or Enterprise Board equivalent 
2. Demonstrate a courteous, professional and supportive attitude to Client and Colleagues
3. To be computer literate in the use of Microsoft Office systems, and email
4. To demonstrate flexibility in the role
5. Have at least 2 years offshore experience in a similar position or role
6. To have a working knowledge or better of the following: a. The latest revisions of IEE Regulations.
   1. JIB Contracting Industry Craftsman Certificate.
   2. JIB Contracting Industry Achievement Measurement.
   3. Hazardous Area and Equipment Classifications – Exd Systems, EEXd systems, Intrinsically Safe systems (I.S. systems) etc
