Job Description
We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to join our facilities team in Tullow, Ireland. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our workplace environments to the highest level. The ideal candidate will demonstrate efficiency, professionalism, and a strong commitment to health and safety compliance while working both independently and collaboratively with our team. Your contributions will directly impact the comfort and well-being of everyone in our organization.
- Clean and sanitize all designated areas including offices, communal spaces, restrooms, and corridors to the highest standards
- Empty waste bins and dispose of refuse appropriately, ensuring proper waste segregation where required
- Operate and maintain a range of cleaning equipment and machinery safely and effectively
- Restock cleaning supplies and report shortages to management promptly
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and report any maintenance issues or hazards immediately
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including COSHH compliance, and wear personal protective equipment as required
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and address spillages or accidents with urgency and professionalism
- Work flexibly to accommodate varying shift patterns and organizational requirements
- Contribute to a positive workplace environment through professional conduct, teamwork, and excellent customer service
- Undertake onboarding training and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities
- Identify and communicate potential safety hazards to management in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a cleaning or facilities maintenance role (desirable)
- Proficiency in using a range of cleaning equipment and machinery
- Sound knowledge of cleaning products, their applications, and safe handling procedures
- Understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly COSHH compliance
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual cleaning tasks consistently
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when required
- Strong people skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer service orientation
- Reliability and punctuality
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability to different cleaning environments
- Ability to work flexible shift patterns and respond to changing organizational needs
- First Aid certification (desirable)
- Willingness to undertake onboarding training and ongoing professional development
