Job Description

We are recruiting a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in Letterkenny, Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and organization while supporting a busy kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations and contributing to a collaborative, supportive team atmosphere.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and back-of-house areas
• Wash pots, pans, utensils, crockery, and kitchen equipment efficiently and thoroughly
• Assist with the receipt, storage, and organization of food and supply deliveries
• Support chefs and the wider kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required
• Ensure all waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed in compliance with company standards
• Keep kitchen storage areas clean, tidy, and well-organized at all times
• Follow food safety, health and safety, and company procedures consistently
• Work collaboratively with team members to support smooth kitchen operations
• Respond promptly to requests from kitchen staff and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate protective equipment as required

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding kitchen environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse team members
• Excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to high standards of cleanliness
• Physical stamina and capability to lift, carry, and handle kitchen equipment and supplies
• Reliability, punctuality, and a flexible approach to work schedules
• Willingness to learn and support the wider catering team
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles
• Previous kitchen porter, dishwashing, or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
• Resilience and adaptability when managing multiple tasks simultaneously
