Location: HMP Erlestoke Devises UK
Pay rate: £13.00 per hour
Working pattern: Permanent, part-time, 20 hours per week
Shift times: Range between 07:30 and 16:00, leaving your evenings free - a rarity when you work within hospitality.
You will be responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines whilst adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. You will safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc.
You must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have legal right to work and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.

What you’ll do:
- Providing high levels of service of food and/or beverages to customers, adhering to the standards set by the company.
- Supervising the prisoners in the area producing the meals and delivering table service
- Performing cleaning and replenishment duties associated with service and related equipment and/or furniture. Ensuring service area and/or service points are clean and stocked up.
- Food assembly and service of same in an efficient manner, which may include some light cooking.
- Monitoring and recording food and equipment temperatures.
- Handling cash transactions and ensuring the accurate cash handling procedures are followed in accordance with company procedure and till procedures.
- Ability to work with minimal direction and as part of a team.
What we’re looking for:
- Ideally, previous experience within a catering environment. On the job training will be provided and must acquire basic food hygiene qualification within first six months of employment.
- Good understanding of written and spoken English.
- Customer service experience.
- Good timekeeping.
- Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years and have the legal right to work.
- Must be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
