Job Description

The Office Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and control of general office functions, including, but not limited to, ordering, AP and AR entries, sales entry, inventory entry, filing, cheque requisitions, payroll entry into Kronos, and financial analysis for the University of Manitoba and smaller district accounts (approx. 5). Primarily this individual supervises day to day data collection, and supervises or completes basic accounting reports. They assist unit management in completion of standard monthly management reports. They also manage the client meal plan, interacting with students as necessary.

Job Responsibilities

•    Responsible for the operation of all accounting systems and records (GFF and E4W), including, but not limited to, sales entries, AR entries, cash receipts, expenditures, investments, AP entries, inventory, assets, cheque requisitions, and payroll 
•    Reconciles bank accounts and verify the bank balance with the general ledger. Works with Cash Banking to decipher any discrepancies and clear any outstanding balances. 
•    Ensures that written performance evaluations of supervised employees are completed as required, provides continuous feedback on personnel performance issues, and takes immediate action to recognize achievements and address deficiencies or problems. Fosters a work culture that promotes open, frequent, and dynamic communication among staff. 
•    Leads regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports. 
•    Meal Plan Reconciliation and invoicing, working with the University residence team to ensure students are set up on correct meal plans, change and prorate plans as required.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
•    Minimum of 2 years experience
•    Experience in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
•    Requires strong interpersonal skills
•    Requires effective verbal and written communication skills
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•    Ability to handle confidential information
•    Ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer service

Education

Minimum 1-2 years experience
Associates preferred
