We are looking for a Residence Dining Manager to manage our food service at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, ON. The successful candidate will be skilled in organizing, planning, directing, controlling, and providing leadership to a team of unionized staff.

Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for ensuring the daily operation of the campus dining hall runs smoothly
• Responsible for operations, cleanliness, service, greeting customers and supervising 35-40 staff
• Schedules dining hall staff, calls replacements, verifies time cards, assists with inventory
• Conducts staff huddles, Health and Safety audits, ensures food safety and sanitation is upheld
• Trains, develops and coaches unionized staff ensuring compliance with Collective Agreement
• Develops and motivates supervisory staff to attain proper standards of performance
Qualifications
• Diploma in Hospitality Management or Food and Beverage Management is preferred
• 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in a high-volume setting is an asset
• Previous experience managing or working in a unionized setting is an asset
• Thorough understanding of food safety, food handling and sanitation standards
• Solid communication and people skills to direct teams in daily operations
• Must be organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel is required for administrative duties
• Must be available to work Monday – Friday shift from 10AM-6PM or 11AM-7PM
